Leave it to Mercedes Benz to create a car that is equally adept at cruising quickly through coastal roads as it is dominating a race track. The new GT-R Roadster has the same 577 hp 4.0L V8 Biturbo engine as its hard-top sibling and will get from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds while on its way to a top speed of 197 mph. As with any AMG-badged vehicle, the GT-R roadster will boast a comprehensive array of performance-focused features such as lightweight magnesium, aluminum, and carbon fiber construction and enhanced aerodynamics and active air management systems to improve handling and cooling.
The three-layered fabric soft top also helps contribute to the roadster's overall performance with a lightweight structure that maintains a low center of gravity and it also has an acoustic mat that helps reduce noise. Other features include available carbon fiber trim packages, AMG performance seats with Airscarf neck heating, AMG-specific displays, an AMG performance sports exhaust system, an AMG Speedshift DCT 7G transmission, and a high-performance compound braking system.
The AMG GT-R Roadster will be limited to 750 units.
