Mercedes-AMG is replacing the E 43 with a new model that brings a new turbocharged 3.0L in-line 6 with their electric EQ Boost technology. The engine will produce 429 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque, which will allow for a 4.4 second (4.3 for the coupe) 0-60 time and an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. The top speed can be lifted with the AMG Driver's Package. All of this will be combined with their AMG Speedshift 9G transmission and AMG Performance's 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel-drive system.
Additionally, the car will feature a number of exterior and performance upgrades including 14.2" brake discs with four-piston fixed calipers, a new hood with dual power domes, high-gloss chrome tailpipes, optional 20-inch AMG wheels, and an AMG Sport Suspension based on their Air Body Control technology.
The new E 53 will be available in a sedan, coupe, and cabriolet.
