Maserati joins the high-performance SUV segment with the Levante Trofeo

Taking aim at cars like the Cayenne Turbo and the X5 M, Maserati is opening up the performance potential of is Levante with the new Trofeo model. The car will not only be the fastest Maserati SUV, but it will also be one of the fastest Maseratis ever. The SUV will feature a 3.8L Twin Turbo V8 that will produce 590-hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. This will get it from 0-62 in 3.9 seconds and will reach a top speed of over 186 mph.

It will also feature all-wheel-drive and a new "Corsa" driving mode with Launch Control. The mode opens the exhausts and enhances the engine's responsiveness, lowers the air suspension height level, and optimizes the gear shifting speeds. The car made its debut at the New York International Auto Show with a Trofeo Launch Edition trim that's exclusive to the US and Canada. This trim will feature Grigio Lava paint with matte-finished 22-inch wheels.
