Lotus' famed driver's car is getting a very very special edition as the company ramps up its celebrations for its upcoming 70th Anniversary. Lotus is calling the Elise Cup 260 their ultimate Elise, which gets an array of aerodynamic upgrades and a boost in performance. The car will be glued to the road as the upgraded aero is capable of generating 396 lb of downforce at speeds of up to 151 mph.
This is all accomplished via louvered front wheel-arch vents, a lightweight carbon fiber front splitter, and a large high-mounted rear wing. All the lightweight Elise Cup options have been added as standard equipment and include sill covers, a roll hoop cover, carbon front access panel and engine cover, and two-piece brake discs.
The supercharged 1.8L engine will produce 250 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque and is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. 0-60 will happen in 3.8 seconds and it will reach a top speed of 151 mph.
Availability looks to be limited to the European market and only 30 examples will be produced.
