Lightyear One

Founded by alumni of Solar Team Eindhoven, who won the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2013, 2015, and 2017, Lightyear unveils its long-range solar car prototype, the Lightyear One. The hood and the roof of the car are covered in a large array of solar cells, which can help charge a large capacity battery that delivers a total of 450 miles of range. You will be able to charge the battery up to 250 miles from a regular 230V socket overnight and it can also be charged at higher speeds when plugged into a fast charging station.

Performance specs haven't been announced as of yet but the company has announced they expect deliveries to happen in 2021 with production to be limited to 500 cars.
