Land Rover has launched a new initiative to award customized Defenders for US-based non-profits
The Defender has long been a vehicle of choice for a number of humanitarian organizations all over the world and now the company wants to build on that legacy with a new initiative that will put custom Defenders in the hands of organizations that are playing a critical role in providing aid to their communities. The Defender Above & Beyond Service Awards is a new program that will accept submissions from organizations involved with work in Search and Rescue, Coastal and Marine Conservation, Animal Welfare, and more. Land Rover will build a Defender (seven in total) that is spec'd to that specific organization's needs, who may require the capabilities of a Defender to support their efforts.
Submissions are currently being accepted from US-based Search and Rescue and Coastal and Marine Conservation organizations through April 7th and additional non-profits will be eligible to apply soon after.
