Lamborghini is introducing a racing version of its Urus super SUV with a concept called the ST-X. The car was designed to preview what will be used in a single-brand championship that will begin in 2020 that will feature race circuit and off-road track elements. Coming to the Middle East and Europe in 2020, cars will compete on FIA-approved circuits and an "arrive and drive" format will be created to allow driver-customers to receive a full package that includes both a car and technical support during the races.
For the ST-X Concept, Lamborghini's Squadra Corsa team has fine-tuned the Urus with all the necessary FIA-approved safety elements, which include a roll cage, fire suppression system, and an FT3 fuel tank. It will also feature a hood with visible carbon fiber, larger air intakes to help cool the twin-turbo V8, and an overall weight reduction that is 25% lighter than the production car.
The ST-X Concept will make its official track debut at the 2019 Lamborghini World Finals.
