Formula E is getting a very important new competitor as Jaguar returns to racing after a hiatus from F1 with the Jaguar Panasonic racing team. Called the I-Type 1, the race car will rocket around the track at speeds up to 140 mph and will serve as a research and development platform for upcoming electric models.

After twenty one days of comprehensive tests, the car will make its debut for the opening race of the third FIA Formula E season, which will take place on October 9th in Hong Kong and will be piloted by Adam Carroll, Mitch Evans, and Ho-Pin Tung.
