The flagship sedan was designed with a big focus on autonomous driving.

Audi is using its flagship sedan to show off the future of the brand with its new design language and an aggressive push into autonomous driving. Taking design elements from the Prologue Concept, the new A8 debuts a front end dominated by their Singleframe grille, which perfectly complements the car's imposing presence and muscular lines.

Beyond the luxurious amenities, the biggest feature everyone is going to be talking about is their piloted-driving feature, which is Audi's marketing speak for autonomous driving. In slow traffic, a feature called Audi AI traffic jam pilot will take over and operate the car up to 37.3 mph. It will also have a remote parking pilot and garage pilot feature for moving the car in and out of spaces without ever having to be in the car.

In regards to performance, Quattro all-wheel-drive will be standard in the new A8 and engine options will include 3.0 TDI and a 3.0 TFSI V6 turbos for the European market, two V8s, and a top-of-the-line W12. The long wheelbase A8 will have an e-tron model with a plug-in hybrid system that produces 449 hp and can store enough juice for 31 miles of all-electric driving. This will also be offered with an optional wireless charging pad that can be installed into your garage floor for a charging output of 3.6 kW.

The car will hit the European market this fall and a US release is still TBD.
