While a lucky few are celebrating their recently approved submissions for eligibility to buy the new Ford GT, an even more impressive GT is hitting the market. We're talking about the 1966 Ford GT40 MKI and it's not just any GT40. This is the first road car to be delivered to North America.

Built at Ford's Advanced Vehicles factory in Slough, Buckinghamshire, England, this GT40 was used briefly as the company's test car and then served as a promotional car for Ford North America. The car is also beyond immaculate with a luxurious leather interior that is unlike any other GT40 and a spectacular exterior that speaks for itself. The car has been under the ownership of the same family for the last 40 years and will be available later this August at the Mecum Daytime auction in Monterey, CA.
