Everyone's been waiting to see what's Ford's been hiding up their sleeves with the next-generation Bronco and today, the company has revealed a new prototype that is the clearest look yet at the upcoming SUV. The Bronco R will be paying tribute to the Rod Hall and Larry Minor-piloted Bronco that won the Baja in 1969. This month, the Bronco returns to the Baja peninsula to undergo some serious testing as the SUV's Ecoboost powertrain and suspension architecture will tackle some of the most challenging terrains on the planet. Though the official specs are fully under wraps, this monster of a prototype will be hitting the desert with a lightweight composite body, a clamshell hood and roof, and 15 Rigid LED lightbars.
A strong hint of what's to come.
