BMW unveils its latest high-performance model with the launch fo the M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive. It is the first M4 with all-wheel-drive, packing an open-air experience coupled with the performance of an inline six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo that produces 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission (sorry manual fans) and 0-60 happens in 3.6 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 174 mph with the optional M Driver's Package.
Its key feature, of course, is the new panel bow soft-top that is 40% lighter than the previous model's retractable hardtop. It also features a flush glass rear window, several layers of insulation, and opening and closing the roof takes 18 seconds and can be operated at up to 31 mph. Additional features include enhanced aerodynamics, slim full-LED headlights with U-shaped fiber optic light guides, an adjustable integrated braking system, M forged wheels, an optional M Drive Professional track mode, M sport seats, and BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a set of 12" and 10" displays.
The new M4 Convertible will hit showrooms this October.
