BMW is finally bringing a top-less version of its flagship plug-in hybrid to the market with the i8 Roadster. The new model features a fabric soft-top that opens and closes silently in just 15 seconds and can do it at up to 31 mph. Just like its hard-top sibling, the Roadster will feature gullwing doors and the plug-in hybrid engine that produces 374-hp. That gets you from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 155 mph.

The car is capable of reaching 65 mph on electric power alone and it has an all-electric range of 33 miles. The springs, damping and Dynamic Stability Control have been tuned specifically for the Roadster and will have 20-inch double spoke, light alloy wheels standard. It will also have an updated interior with new seats, ceramic and carbon trim options, and an optional head-up display.
