Garage Italia Customs and BMW are showing off two new versions of their i8 and i3 models wrapped in a new colorway called CrossFade. The color was inspired by a painting style popular in the late 19th and early 20th century. The technique, called optical color mixing is a careful application of perfectly placed hits of color that results in a gradient finish.

Protonic Blue metallic and Protonic Dark Silver metallic were used to emphasize the lines of the car and a triangle pattern was chosen to complement the car's plug-in hybrid technology. If you hope to get your hands on the CrossFade edition, BMW plans to make this an available option in 2017.
