2019 officially marks the centenary of what many consider to be a manufacturer of some of the finest automobiles in the world, Bentley. The company is kicking off the year with the announcement of the Continental GT No 9 Edition, a Mulliner-built limited edition that is inspired by the 'Blower' Bentley. The car pays homage to Sir Henry Ralph Stanley ‘Tim’ Birkin, who was one of the original 'Bentley Boys' and owner of the famed 4 ½ liter ‘Blower.'
Raced at the 1930 Le Mans 24 Hours, the Continental GT will pay tribute to this model with details such as a '9' graphic on the front grille, commemorative badging throughout, and they've even included a wooden insert from the seat of Birkin's race car, which is set in resin and displayed in center dial of the rotating dashboard. Other details include Viridian green or Beluga black paint options, a British Jaeger dashboard clock, and an 18K gold plated organ stops.
The Continental GT Number 9 Edition will be limited to 100 examples.
