Bentley's big brute of a luxury SUV is getting a new plug-in hybrid option, the first of its kind from the high-end automaker. Instead of the usual V8 or W12 options, the hybrid Bentayga will use an all-new turbocharged V6 that's paired with an electric motor. This will allow for up to 31 miles of all-electric range. A full charge will require 7.5 hours on a regular household power outlet and on a fast charger it will take just 2.5 hours.
The company teamed up with Philippe Starck to create the Starck Power Dock concept, a home charger designed with sustainable materials such as pressed eco-linen with bio-sourced thermosetting resin and a domed frontage made from a hot-pressure aluminum casting.
An official release date for the Bentayga has yet to be announced though orders will begin later in the year.
