ARES Design might not be a household name, but you're going to know who they are soon enough. The coachbuilder is opening a new design and production facility in Modena, Italy, where they'll be building a spiritual successor to to one of the most beloved sports cars of all time, the De Tomaso Pantera.

The company will be building the car on a 2017 Lamborghini Huracan chassis and as you can see, the end result is even more beautiful than the car it's based on. No word yet on final power numbers, but we imagine that the 5.2L, naturally aspirated V10 should be more than adequate.

Project Panther's development is close to being finalized and will be on sale in the second half of 2018 in very limited numbers.
