Alfa Romeo has unveiled its first-ever crossover with the debut of the 2023 Tonale. The Tonale will be available with two engine options: a PHEV that marries a 1.3L MultiAir turbocharged four-cylinder to a 90kW electric motor that produces 272 hp and has an all-electric range of more than 30 miles. A purely gas-powered model will also be available with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 256 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both models feature AWD standard.

Inside, the Tonale has all the latest tech with a 10.25" center display and a 12.3" dashboard display, an Android-powered infotainment system, wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, Alexa integration, an array of driver assistance systems, and Level 2 autonomous driving that uses a combination of Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, and Traffic Jam Assist for a semi-autonomous driving experience. The Tonale will also be the first automobile on the market to come with an NFT digital certificate that will keep an official, non-modifiable record of the life of the vehicle.

Orders for the Tonale begin at the end of the year with availability set for Q1 2023.
