You didn't think Porsche would let Maranello hog all the spotlight did you? Not long after Ferrari made the 296 GT3 announcement, Porsche made some big news of its own with the announcement of the new 911 GT3 R. Based on the 992, the new 911 GT3 R features a larger engine with a water-cooled flat-six that produces 557 hp and is matched to a six-speed sequential constant-mesh gearbox. The car also has an extensively modified suspension, AP racing brake calipers, and a lightweight body with an aluminum-steel composite design, and an endless amount of carbon fiber.

The new 911 GT3 R can now be ordered for the 2023 racing season.
