Mercedes-AMG has revealed the all-new GLE 53 Coupe, a powerful crossover designed to deliver a versatile mix of sportiness and off-road performance. Power comes from a 429 hp 3.0L inline-six that features 48V technology, 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive, and an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed automatic transmission. When it comes to speed, the GLE 53 can get from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and it will hit a governed top speed of 155 mph.
The AMG-specific styling is in full force here with its AMG-specific radiator grille, powerdomes on the hood, sportier outer air inlets, AMG side skirts, a trunk lid spoiler, flared wheel arches, and a choice between 21-inch or 22-inch AMG wheels. The rear bumper has been updated with a new diffuser that's accented with a silver chrome trim strip and the exhausts have been fitted with twin-tailpipes in high-gloss chrome. There's also a Night package option that updates elements such as the front splitter, front bumper trim, and outer air inlets in high gloss black.
The sportier theme extends to the interior with color accents such as red contrast stitching and red seat belts, AMG seats in MB-Tex/DINAMICA microfiber, and the latest generation of the AMG Performance three-spoke steering wheel, which has aluminum paddles and a driver-focused design. Customers can also choose from a wide array of leather upholstery options and AMG Carbon Fiber trim. Other notable features include a standard MBUX infotainment system with AMG-specific displays, AMG Dynamic Select driving modes to optimize on and off-road driving scenarios, and AMG TRACK PACE that lets you record and analyze performance data if you happen to take the GLE onto the track.
