The new 2021 IS sedan has arrived and the company is touting it as the first model to feature the Lexus Driving Signature. The Lexus Driving Signature focuses on creating a new generation of cars that are built on a standard that combines the perfect balance of ride comfort and performance. For the IS, this meant enhancing the body rigidity and refining the suspension, delivering the comfort you would expect from a Lexus while also increasing the car's responsiveness and vehicle control.
The IS will be available with two versions of the IS 300 with a 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder that produces 241 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque or a 3.5L V6 that produces 260 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the range is the IS 350 with a 3.5L V6 that produces 311 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 in the IS 350 RWD has been clocked at 5.6 seconds while the AWD version gets from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Both the IS 300 and IS 350 are available with all-wheel-drive.
Additional features include an available 10.3" touchscreen, CarPlay, Android Auto, and Alexa compatibility, an available 835-watt Mark Levinson 15-speaker system, or a 17-speaker, 1,800 option. The car will also have an enhanced Lexus Safety System+ suite of features such as a Pre-Collision System, Front Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian and Bicyclist Detection, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Intelligent High Beams.
