Audi has pulled back the curtains to reveal its next-generation A3, adopting the aggressive new styling of its larger siblings. The exterior has a sportier look than the previous model with a larger grille, a new headlight design, and muscular fenders that give it a much more imposing presence. Longer, wider, and taller, the new model frees up head and elbow room while the wheelbase and luggage capacity remains the same.
As for power, the company has announced the European specs, which include a 1.5L TFSI engine that produces 147 hp and includes a six-speed manual and a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. A 2.0 TDI diesel will also be available with the same horsepower as the TFSI and a seven-speed S tronic automatic.
The interior has all the latest technologies you would expect such as a 10.25-inch instrument cluster or a 12.3-inch option with Audi virtual cockpit plus. CarPlay and Android Audio are also integrated and you can use the Audi connect key feature to lock, unlock, and start the car with an Android smartphone.
The new A3 will hit Europe this summer and a North American release has yet to be announced.
