The Macan Turbo returns as the new king of Porsche's compact SUV lineup with a boost in horsepower and speed for the 2020 model year. The 2.9L twin-turbo V6 now produces 434 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque allowing for a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds (4.1 with the Sport Chrono package) and a top speed of 167 mph. This engine replaces the 3.6L twin-turbo V6 of the previous model and is shared with both the Cayenne and Panamera.
Porsche matched the engine with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive. The company has also equipped the SUV with a number of new upgrades as standard equipment such as Porsche Surface Coated Brakes with tungsten carbide-coated rotors, a Sport Exhaust system, 20-inch Macan Turbo wheels, and Porsche Active Suspension Management. Height-adjustable air suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and ceramic brakes are also available as options.
The 2020 Macan Turbo will hit dealerships later this year.
