Ram's plan to fight the F-150 and Silverado gets even more interesting this year as the truckmaker shows off its upcoming 2019 model. The new Ram 1500 is lighter, stronger, and more capable with a maximum payload that's been increased to 2,300 lbs and towing power up to 12,750 pounds.
Powertrain options will include a second-gen, 3.6L Pentastar V6 with an eTorque Mild Hybrid System, which will also be found in the powerful 5.7L Hemi V8. Both options will be available with TorqueFlite eight-speed transmissions and will help increase efficiency.
One of the most interesting options is their new Uconnect system, which now offers a massive 12-inch touchscreen display that can feature two applications simultaneously. That can also be equipped with the most powerful sound system available in a pickup with a 19-speaker option from Harman Kardon.
Other features include bold new grille options, full LED adaptive front lighting, 100% more storage capacity, and various driver safety aids such as Forward Collision Warning-Plus, Ready Alert Braking, Trailer-sway Damping control, LaneSense Late Departure Warning-Plus, and ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park and Hill-start Assist.
