Merc's boxy workhorse puts in another year of service and gets a major update in the powertrain department with the debut of the 2016 G-Class. The newest version of the G500 receives a twin-turbo, direct-injection 4.0L V8 that is based on the same hunk of metal found in both the brand new AMG GT and the C63.

That engine brings 416 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque to the new G500 and will help it achieve a 0-62 time of 5.9 seconds. Pretty impressive for such a weighty car. Fuel consumption has also been improved with ECO start/stop functionality that comes standard and for you power hungry Americans that can't get enough power, Mercedes will finally bring the 12-cylinder G65 AMG to US showrooms with its monstrous 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.

Available in US showrooms this November, more info at mbusa.com.
