Hello, Again: Beck Reimagines David Bowie's Sound and Vision

helloagain.jpg

A couple weeks ago Lincoln hosted us at an intimate show where Beck and an "orchestra" of 170 musicians came together to recreate David Bowie's Sound & Vision. But what we saw was only a piece of the story, the concert, directed by Chris Milk, was being recorded to create an immersive online concert experience giving you 360 degree binaural sound and webcam connectivity that lets you control the 360 degree cameras with some pretty fancy head tracking magic. Enough of our babbling, throw on your best pair of headphones, turn up the volume, and check it out for yourself. Link

Shut Up and Play the Hits

lcd.jpg

After three studio albums and a decade performances, LCD Soundsystem shows us all how to go out on top with "Shut Up and Play the Hits"

"On April 2nd, 2011, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM played its final show at Madison Square Garden. LCD frontman James Murphy had made the conscious decision to disband one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation at the peak of its popularity, ensuring that the band would go out on top with the biggest and most ambitious concert of its career. The instantly sold out, near four-hour extravaganza did just that, moving the thousands in attendance to tears of joy and grief, with New York Magazine calling the event "a marvel of pure craft" and TIME magazine lamenting "we may never dance again." SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS is simultaneously a document of a once-in-a-lifetime performance and an intimate portrait of Murphy as he navigates both the personal and professional ramifications of his decision."

Kid Cudi's long awaited "rock" album drops today as he debuts "WZRD", his new side project with friend and producer Dot Da Genius'. Mr. Rager trades in his 16 bar verses and dons a guitar with tracks that don't stray too far from Cudi's signature sound, but maintain a hybrid rock-slash-experimental sound that is definitely his own.
