2011 Dodge Durango

durango.jpg

If the styling and engineering direction of the latest Dodge Durango is any indication, it looks like the struggling brand finally gets it. No longer a bulbous, oddly shaped gas guzzler, the new 2011 Durango is now svelte, luxurious, and sporty while maintaining the imposing presence of a big Dodge truck. Power options start at a 3.6L Pentastar V6 all the way to a 5.7L V8 RT model, but we all know we're waiting to see what comes of the inevitable SRT model. Link / Source

2011 Porsche Cayenne

newcayenne.jpg

While its easy to play the role of the purist and complain about any Porsche that's not a 911, the Cayenne has done quite a lot for the fans being that its the company's best selling car and gives R&D more money to improve upon the 911 program. That said, Porsche's got a new Cayenne and its leaner, more efficient, and a hell of a lot better looking. The two major highlights of the new Cayenne lineup are S Hybrid and Turbo models. The least mpg-friendly of the two will have a 4.8 liter biturbo 500 hp V8 whereas the S Hybrid while still powerful, utilizes a 3 liter supercharged V6 electric hybrid engine delivering a total of 333 horsepower and an impressive 34.4 mpg. 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

vwt.jpg

While not a total overhaul at first glance, Volkswagen's latest Touareg takes on a much more dynamic shape with curvier lines and a lot less bloat. Efficiency and a sportier ride are the key elements on the new model with a lower ground clearance, smaller body, and fuel efficient engines. A while we like what we see so far of the new Touareg it only makes us that much more excited about the upcoming Audi Q7 which is built on the same chassis. Link

Hands-On: The 2010 Toyota 4Runner

4runner.jpg

Toyota isn't going to let fluctuating gas prices and a growing general consensus against anything and everything SUV-related stop them from introducing an entirely new 4Runner. And its not like they made it smaller or more taut either, the 2010 4Runner is a much bigger brute than the previous generation and its presence was very much felt when we were handed the keys to one last week. More from our review after the jump.

Off Roadin' with Toyota

toyo1.jpg

Its not everyday Toyota hands you the keys to a fleet of Trucks and SUVs to toy with on the off road playground that is the Cleveland National Forrest. We got a chance to put a few FJ Cruisers and Tacomas through their paces and after the experience we can see why the most loyal of American truck drivers are trading in their rusted Chevy and Ford belt buckles for a sparkly new piece of metal from the land of the rising sun.
