2012 Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG

You may want to think twice about calling Mercedes' newest ML a grocery hauler. For their 2012 ML63 AMG, Merc has dropped a 5.5L V8 biturbo under the hood which produces 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Throw in the AMG Performance Package and you're looking at an increase to 550 horses and 560 lb-ft of torque. All that power takes the ML63 from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds on its way to top speed 155 mph. With the Performance Package you'll hit 0-60 in 4.6 and get up to a top speed 174 mph. Link

AEV Brute Double Cab

Its a bit sad when the best Jeeps on the market aren't built by Jeep themselves, but with all the home runs AEV releases, you won't hear too many complaints from us. Their latest conversion is a Double Cab model of the Brute which takes its inspiration from none other than the good ol' Land Rover Defender 130. As for power, the new Brute will embarrass those stock Wrangler carpool cruisers with a beastly 6.4 liter Hemi engine. Link / Source

Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel Edition

Originally intended as a one-off for F1 driver, Sebastian Vettel, Infinti is officially giving the concept the greenlight for production. Based on the V8-powered FX5OS Premium, the hopped-up crossover is tweaked to achieve a 0-62 time of 5.6 seconds and a mind boggling top speed of 186 mph. To reach that speed Infiniti and Vettel's racing crew came together to dial in the aerodynamics which is evident through the addition of a carbon fiber wing, splitter, and rear diffuser. Even the shape of the car's side mirrors were altered to achieve better downforce. 186 mph? Carbon Fiber? Definitely not the carpool hauler we're all used to. Link

2012 Volkswagen Tiguan

Hitting North American showrooms this fall, VW's refreshed Tiguan gets a sportier look and a series of under the hood upgrades which we recently put to the test on a journey that took us from Munich, Germany to the Alps of Kitzbüehl, Austria.
The sporty looks of the new Tiguan have been matched with a standard and fuel-efficient turbocharged 2.0 liter, 200 hp TFSI engine that definitely proved itself on the Autobahn on our way to Austria. Inside the car you'll find the usual gadgetry and a fit and finish thats been tightened up with soft touch materials and the premium feel you would hope for in a Volkswagen.

The Tiguan remains to be one of the best and most versatile options in its class and we think its newly refreshed makeover should help it continue to stand out against its American and Japanese rivals. Now if only the boys in Wolfsburg would make us happy and put the clean diesel "Bluemotion" variants on the fast track to production.
